Cognac Retreat is a thoughtfully and sympathetically renovated ancient Charentais longère farmhouse providing top quality self-catering holiday accommodation. Situated in a tiny hamlet surrounded by fields of vines and sunflowers, it is only 10 minutes from the bustling centre of Cognac and 45 minutes from the coast. The south-facing house is at the end of a quiet cul de sac opposite the laverie where the villagers would wash their clothes in days gone by.
You will be assured peace and tranquility, calm and space and stunning countryside in a very favourable climate, whatever the season. Charente boasts the second highest sunshine in France (after the Côte d'Azur), and very low rainfall: long, hot summer days give way to mild autumns and bright, cold winters; spring begins early and garden lunches have been known in February and November.
